SUB A LOT MORE THAN ZERO

Happy Monday everyone! This week was actually super awesome! For those of you who saw the news on Wednesday we had the coldest temperature that Chicago/Chicago area (yes that includes Hebron) has had in over a century! I enjoyed waking up on Wednesday morning and seeing that it was negative 20 degrees and then you add wind-chill and it was negative 50. What a great time!

The sisters in my district actually had all the roads in their area shut down. It was a bummer so they had to stay in their apartment. We we're "strongly advised to not drive anywhere" but also in my head we are always reciting "the truth of God will go forth boldly nobly and independent till it has penetrated every continent visited every clime, swept every country, and sounded in every ear till the purposes of God shall be accomplished and the great Jehovah shall say the work is done." Don't worry that's not a Jehovah’s Witness quote, actually Joseph Smith said it! :)

But president sent an email to all of us pretty much telling us we couldn't tract and that even if we were traveling we had to be smart. Well the truck worked and Elder Jensen and I had scheduled as many lessons as we could for that day so we were set! Definitely had very many ward members calling us and telling us to not go outside, they care so much, but tbh would probably rather freeze to death than sit in a lame apartment all day. So the day was a success and went well!

Also this week a lesson learned: it is possible to burn hot chocolate.. Who knew!?

This week I was able to go on another exchange with my favorite zone leader ever Elder Thompson. He's my Boi and we had a super great time. Of course we were driving past Cedar lake and it was frozen and had snow on it and looked like Hoth from Starwars 5 and he said he needed a photo shoot or else it doesn't count so that happened. It was a really good time and we got a lot of good stuff done.

This week was actually really successful, we were able to have 5 people at church and so the ward was super hyped and excited for the missionary work, and testimony meeting was really good. Hebron is starting to boost and it's super awesome to be a part of it! Elder Jensen and I are creating like a record system to hype us up and so we've hit lesson records for the past three weeks! He’s like the best companion ever. The man is a beast. He's so funny too. Fun fact about Elder Jensen, he used to go hunting with a bow so he'd just leave society and go in the mountains for like 5 days and 4 nights away from human contact. So pretty much he's one with nature and it's pretty awesome and I think he would fit in really well in Santa Clara, UT with all the Gubler squad. This week we met some cool people and it was a really great week.

Also you'll never believe this but we were just finishing with shopping because it's Pday and he's like "It's nice today, you wanna go for a jog?" and I was like "I've been waiting for one of my companions to say that this whole time." So we went on a super nice run. Oh by the way it’s 100 degrees warmer today than it was, I don't know why but today is 50 and like last week it was - 50 so this place needs to make up its mind, haha but basically he's the best and running was super awesome.

This morning we also went and taught one of our Seminary classes in the ward. (There are 3 small Seminary classes because the ward has such huge boundaries). It was really cool and I think we did decent, I mean I'm not a Doctrine and Covenants master, but that's what we taught and it was really fun (just thought you would be proud dad ;) we woke up at like 4:45 to go teach it and it was a good time. We decided to wait until Pday so we could take a nap after haha.

Last of all this ward is the best ward and I love this area. Elder Jensen and I are enjoying every second of it together and we even enjoy choir! Haha the ward choir director is actually really nervous because the choir performance we've been working on after church every week is like the week after transfers. So she's hoping one of us doesn't leave and I'm really hoping that too. I'd like to stay here cause this place is the best and there are just some amazing people. We might have baptisms coming up the next 2 Saturdays! I'm super pumped! I'm enjoying Hebron a ton! I think that's about it for this week!
